Hello, my name is Leticia and I'm official licensed guide of the Community of Madrid, the region where the capital of Spain is.

In this tour, we will discover together the origins of the city from its beginning till the XIX century visiting one of the most representative monuments of the old town, but Madrid is much more.

Starting from the Temple of Debod, I will guide you until Plaza Mayor visiting the area of the Royal Palace and the Opera House, the Plaza de la Villa, San Miguel Market and the interesting gastronomic area of "las Cavas".

The tour will last about 2h, not including breaks or visits that you can do on your own.

Together we will discover the Retiro Park. Starting from the main entrance we will focus on the most important spots, including the Crystal Palace, the Parterre Graden, the Great Pond, and all the remaining curiosities and secrets.

The stunning Royal Palace, or Palacio Real in Spanish, is probably one of the most important stops of our walking tours in Madrid. If you have time, it's worth visiting the inside, with nearly 3500 rooms.

The Crystal Palace, or Palacio de Cristal in Spanish, is one of the most impressive monuments of the Retiro Park. It's surrounded by beautiful horse chestnut trees, and it serves as a space for art exhibitions.

The San Miguel market has been since the early 1900s, the main market of Madrid, and it is even home to Michelin-star chefs. If you want to treat yourself with local delicacies you know where to go.

The Great Pond is a beautiful lake situated in Retiro Park, where you can even hire boats or take kayaking lessons.

Velázquez Palace, originally known as Palacio de la Minería, was built in 1881 for the Exposición Nacional de Minería by architect Ricardo Velázquez Bosco and engineer Alberto Palacio.

Located in the center of Madrid, Plaza de España is a popular tourist destination that will be part of your visit. At its center, you will find a monument to Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.

Plaza Mayor, translated in English as "main square," is the most famous square of the city and is located in one of its oldest areas. It's often a meeting point for locals who meet here to enjoy an evening drink.

The Puerta de Alcalá, in Spanish, is a Neoclassical gate located in the Independence Square. It was part of the medieval walls of the city, known as the Walls of Philip IV.
